With a live saxophone performance, relaxed silhouettes and a distinctly urban attitude, CHICK New York brought its vision of contemporary streetwear to the Runway 7 stage during New York Fashion Week.
The Sound of the City
The lights went out at Sony Hall, but the runway did not remain quiet for long. A saxophone began to play, its sound carrying through the darkened room before the lights gradually revealed Cleo Fox, seated near the back of the stage. Behind her, images of New York City filled the screens, introducing the urban atmosphere that would accompany CHICK New York’s presentation.
Fox’s performance gave the opening a lively, relaxed rhythm. As the first model approached, the attention naturally shifted from the music to the clothes. The city imagery remained in the background, with the CHICK New York logo appearing across the screens.
From the beginning, the collection felt closely connected to the way people dress beyond the runway. Hoodies, cropped tops, cargo trousers, miniskirts and oversized T-shirts formed its foundation, but the details were rarely as straightforward as the garments initially suggested. Unexpected cutouts, metallic hardware, exaggerated proportions and carefully chosen accessories gave familiar pieces a different character.
A Bold Start in Blue
The first model stepped onto the runway wearing an electric-blue matching set. A cropped zip-up hoodie revealed the waist, while wide-leg trousers extended almost to the floor. The color immediately stood out beneath the stage lighting, but as the model approached, another detail became impossible to overlook.
Openings at the hips interrupted the trousers just below a wide belt, exposing sections of skin within an otherwise covered silhouette. Metallic eyelets reinforced the waistband, and the generous fabric moved around the model’s legs as she walked. Black platform footwear completed the look, introducing the contrast between cropped upper garments and oversized bottoms that would return throughout the show.

Brown followed, bringing a more sensual interpretation of the same casual vocabulary. A long-sleeved top with a short front zipper and metallic accents along the shoulders was paired with a very short, leather-look skirt. Its glossy surface and asymmetrical construction contrasted with the softness of the top, while tall black boots drew attention to the legs.
The change in mood was immediate. Where the opening outfit relied on volume and cutouts, this one played with a shorter silhouette and a more fitted lower half. Both remained rooted in everyday clothing, yet their proportions gave them entirely different personalities.
A light-gray ensemble brought the focus back to cargo trousers. The model wore a short-sleeved cropped top with a front zipper, paired with loose pants covered in pockets, fastenings and long straps. Some of those details became more visible as she moved, with the hanging elements shifting independently of the trouser legs.
At the end of the runway, she turned around and moved her hair aside, revealing the CHICK New York logo printed across the back of her top. It was a small but deliberate gesture that gave the audience another reason to look. The outfit had already made its impression from the front, but its final detail was waiting on the other side.

When Casual Becomes an Attitude
The next model arrived in dark green, wearing an oversized T-shirt gathered toward one side of the waist, fitted black cycling shorts and tall black boots. A newsboy cap sat above her voluminous curls, while narrow sunglasses concealed her eyes.
Her walk had a noticeably different quality. The restrained expression, sunglasses and unhurried movements gave the appearance a mysterious edge. The clothes themselves were relatively simple, but the styling made the combination feel more deliberate. It was the kind of outfit that could easily exist on a New York sidewalk, yet looked entirely at home under the runway lights.

Black took over with a cropped, high-neck long-sleeved top and exceptionally wide cargo trousers. Oversized pockets, metallic hardware and hanging straps interrupted the otherwise monochromatic silhouette. A black-and-white polka-dot bandana and dark sunglasses completed the styling.
As the model moved forward, the straps swung against the trousers, giving the black fabric additional movement. The exposed waist created a narrow break between the fitted top and loose lower half, preventing the oversized silhouette from overwhelming the figure.
Blue returned with a sharper, almost rock-inspired attitude. A cropped navy top with white detailing along the sleeves was paired with a glossy blue miniskirt, its overlapping panels and prominent belts drawing attention to the hips. Dark sunglasses and black ankle boots reinforced the look’s rebellious character.

Under the lights, the skirt reflected flashes of blue while the top remained comparatively matte. It was a contrast that made the combination interesting to watch in motion, particularly as the model approached the front of the runway.
Brown then softened the mood. A sleeveless cropped top bearing the CHICK New York City lettering appeared with loose, chocolate-colored trousers. White drawstrings fell from the elastic waistband, while small metallic details punctuated the fabric down the legs.
There was less emphasis on dramatic accessories here. Instead, the outfit relied on its relaxed fit and the contrast between the close-fitting top and wide trousers. After several looks dominated by glossy surfaces and structured details, this one felt closer to the everyday wardrobe that continued to inform the collection.
Playing With Proportions
An oversized green sweatshirt brought another shift in silhouette. Large white CHICK New York City lettering occupied the front, while short matching bottoms remained mostly hidden beneath the length of the top. The model’s hairstyle, arranged with two small buns, added a playful quality, but the most striking element was the footwear.
Tall, slouchy black boots rose well above the knees, creating a dramatic contrast with the sweatshirt’s loose shape. With each step, the boots gave the otherwise casual outfit a stronger visual presence.
The next model brought back royal blue, this time through an oversized CHICK T-shirt and matching glossy shorts. The combination might have appeared understated on its own, but a pair of white thigh-high heeled boots changed the entire effect.

Against the saturated blue, the white boots immediately drew the eye. Their height extended the silhouette, while narrow sunglasses and voluminous hair added a confident finish. It was another example of the way CHICK used footwear to transform familiar sportswear combinations into something more expressive.
Black returned in a lighter, more fluid form. A loose top with semi-sheer long sleeves fell over a shorter underlayer, allowing the shape beneath to remain partially visible. Subtle lettering appeared across the chest, while long ties hung from the garment and moved alongside the model.
Glossy, textured black boots provided a heavier counterpoint to the transparency above. The contrast was particularly noticeable as the model walked, with the lightweight fabric shifting around the body while the boots maintained a more structured line.
The collection then revisited brown through one of its more detailed utility-inspired ensembles. A fitted cropped tank with white piping and a small crown emblem was paired with wide trousers featuring oversized leather-look pockets, layered panels and a long strap extending from the waist.
Different surfaces appeared within the same color palette, making the construction more apparent as the model approached. The pants carried much of the visual weight, while the fitted top kept the proportions balanced. Her hairstyle, with two small buns and longer strands framing the face, added a youthful touch to the otherwise hardware-heavy outfit.
A Flash of Silver
After the darker blues, greens and browns, a flash of silver brought a noticeable change to the runway.
The model appeared with voluminous blonde curls, wearing a black cropped top with shoulder cutouts and contrasting white piping. Beneath it, a silver metallic miniskirt caught the stage lighting, its front zipper and buckle detail adding structure to the reflective surface.

The combination stood apart from the preceding looks through its brighter finish. Tall black boots grounded the outfit, while the contrast between the silver skirt, dark top and blonde curls gave the appearance a distinctly playful character.
The following model returned the collection to a sportier direction. A fitted green T-shirt with a white V-neck was paired with matching loose trousers. White drawstrings and a vertical row of buttons at the waistband broke up the green, while the generous pant legs fell over glossy black footwear.
Large sunglasses and softly styled hair introduced a more polished quality to the look. It was an easy combination to imagine outside the venue, particularly because the design relied on recognizable sportswear elements rather than complicated construction.
A blue tracksuit-inspired ensemble followed, with a cropped high-neck zip-up top featuring white panels along the shoulders and sleeves. Matching cargo trousers continued the athletic direction through wide legs and large side pockets.
The exposed waist interrupted the otherwise coordinated set, while the model’s hairstyle, with small buns and longer face-framing strands, reinforced its youthful character. Across these appearances, CHICK continued to move between athletic references and more fashion-focused styling without losing the relaxed quality of its clothes.
The Details That Made the Difference
Black returned with an oversized T-shirt falling loosely over one shoulder, paired with fitted biker shorts. White CHICK lettering ran vertically along the front of the top, but the most unexpected contrast came from the model’s white pointed-toe ankle boots.
The boots introduced a sharper, more feminine line beneath the relaxed upper half. With her hair falling in soft waves, the model presented a simpler interpretation of the collection’s aesthetic, one that depended on proportion and styling rather than elaborate embellishment.
The next appearance brought brown cargo trousers back into focus. This time, a black cropped tank carrying the CHICK logo was paired with oversized chocolate-brown pants. Metallic eyelets, adjustable straps and layered fabric sections gave the trousers a more complex appearance, particularly around the hips and legs.
Narrow sunglasses, hoop earrings and a choker added to the urban styling. As the model walked, the loose extensions moved against the wider trouser legs, making the construction more noticeable. The fitted top kept the attention on the lower half, where most of the detailing was concentrated.
A head-to-toe gray ensemble followed, offering one of the collection’s more restrained color combinations. A sleeveless cropped top with a short zipper was paired with extremely wide cargo trousers, their oversized pockets and hanging straps creating subtle variations across the monochromatic surface.
At the front of the runway, the model placed both hands on her hips, allowing the full width of the pants to become visible. Without a bold print or contrasting color, the silhouette itself became the focal point. The trousers extended outward from the waist before falling toward the floor, demonstrating how much of the collection’s identity came from its treatment of proportion.
Streetwear in Motion
Dark blue returned through an oversized, sweatshirt-inspired mini dress. A large CHICK graphic appeared across the front, while semi-sheer sections along the sleeves introduced a change in texture. The hem carried CHICK NEW YORK lettering, and long branded straps extended from the sides.
Those straps became particularly noticeable during the walk, moving freely alongside the model’s legs. Narrow black sunglasses and square-toe ankle boots completed the look, balancing the oversized garment with more structured accessories.

Green followed, but this time the proportions were almost entirely reversed. A loose cropped T-shirt exposed the waist above forest-green cargo trousers with exceptionally wide legs. A white elastic waistband and long drawstrings contrasted with the darker fabric, while large flap pockets emphasized the trousers’ utilitarian character.
As the model reached the front of the runway, the volume of the pants became especially apparent. Their fabric fell almost to the floor, covering much of the footwear and creating a broad silhouette beneath the relatively simple top.
By this point, the collection had established a recognizable visual language. The recurring colors, cropped tops, cargo pockets, oversized shapes and prominent branding connected the different appearances, even as individual outfits moved between sporty, playful and more provocative interpretations of streetwear.
One Last Walk
As the show approached its final moments, Cleo Fox rose from her seat and moved toward the runway, bringing the saxophone performance closer to the audience. The music continued as the final model appeared, dressed in a black-and-white cropped top and glossy black miniskirt.
The skirt featured an asymmetrical construction, a wide waistband and metallic details that echoed several of the earlier looks. Tall black boots and narrow sunglasses completed the outfit, while the contrast between the fitted top and short, glossy skirt gave the final appearance a confident edge.
Fox had moved from the background into the action, playing near the models as the presentation reached its conclusion. The audience along the runway watched and recorded the moment, with the live saxophone adding a final burst of energy to the show.
Then the models returned together.
The final walk brought the collection back into view as a whole. The electric blues, forest greens, chocolate browns, blacks and grays appeared once more, alongside the cargo trousers, cropped hoodies, oversized T-shirts, metallic skirts and statement boots that had defined the presentation.
Applause followed the models down the runway, closing a show that had remained closely connected to the style of the city projected behind it.
What stood out about CHICK New York was the way the collection moved between different expressions of casual dressing. Some looks relied on oversized proportions, others on exposed waistlines, glossy finishes or unexpected footwear. The clothes remained familiar, but the styling gave each combination its own personality.
From the first saxophone notes in the darkened room to the final walk at Sony Hall, CHICK New York presented streetwear as something shaped by movement, individuality and the everyday energy of New York City.
