Runway 7 continues its educational initiative, Runway 7 Talks, with a new session titled “How Designers Are Selected for New York Fashion Week 2026.” The live webinar will take place on Tuesday, November 4 at 5:00 PM (EST) and will be led by Christina Kovacs, Runway 7’s Director of Designers.
This exclusive session will give designers an insider look into what it takes to be part of New York Fashion Week, offering practical insights from Runway 7’s scouting and curation process for its February 2026 season.
What the Webinar Covers
Designed for both emerging and established fashion designers, the webinar will explore how the Runway 7 team evaluates applicants—beyond design aesthetics alone. Christina Kovacs will share her firsthand experience from years of reviewing submissions and meeting with international brands, breaking down the key criteria that make a designer stand out.
Insights from Runway 7’s Designer Relations Team
Runway 7’s Designer Relations Representatives — Fabiana, Daniela, and Jesus — shared their perspectives on the scouting process:
“When I speak with a designer, I pay close attention to how they express their ideas,” explains Fabiana. “Clear, confident communication often reflects how they’ll collaborate throughout production.”
Daniela adds: “Construction, material quality, originality, and a cohesive narrative behind the collection are key to identifying brands ready for an international runway.”
Meanwhile, Jesus highlights storytelling and brand presentation as decisive factors: “A designer’s ability to articulate their brand identity ensures their work aligns with the overall vision of each show.”
Together, their insights reflect Runway 7’s multi-layered evaluation system, which prioritizes creativity, professionalism, and growth potential — all fundamental traits for designers aiming to debut at Runway 7 during NYFW February 2026.
